  • Multiple VRay Attributes (on shapes) ?

    Hi everyone,

I am trying to set up different custom ID passes ( with the VRay User Color node plugged in ExtraTex)

The problem is, I can't assign multiple VRay attributes on each objects, so I can't make multiple passes.

    Is there a workaround ?

It would be perfect If I could tell the VRay User Color node to read regular Maya Attributes..

    Thank you very much,

    Raphael

This is already done; in recent nightly builds, VRayUserColor and VRayUserScalar textures will recognize Maya attributes if they start with "vrayUserColor_" or "vrayUserScalar_" or "vrayUserString_". For example, if you add a dynamic attribute with the name vrayUserScalar_test, you can then use "test" inside a VRayUserScalar texture to access it.

    Best regards,

That was a very quick answer,

Thanks vlado, I am not using nightly at the moment but I am willing to,
Where should I ask for it ? (maybe its a silly question)

By the way I was wondering,

Does this work through proxy ?

Yes, when you create the proxy the currently set user attributes are saved in the proxy and the work as expected in the renderer.

Only in recent nightly builds though
