  • Artifacts in renders...

I'm getting these artifacts in my render and I can't for the life of me figure out why they are happening and how to get rid of them.
Check the picture below to see what I am talking. It happens in basically the same area every time regardless of camera orientation or lighting. The geometry is a simple cylinder.

    Light Subdivisions = 32
    Reflection subdivisions = 64
Adaptive DMC Subdivisions Max anywhere from 8 - 64 makes no difference
    No GI

    Please advise.

    Thanks!!

Can you render out some render elements so we can see where the noise might be coming from? VRayLighting, VRayReflection, VRaySamplerRate, might help here.

I did it already and the noise is coming from the reflection. I'm not using any reflection glossiness though. I'll post them in a minute.

You know what? After messing with render settings for several hours I finally found the reason. Someone else had created the model and it had double faces. Faces under faces. And it was creating artifacts. Once I deleted the lamina faces everything rendered fine.
That's what comes from trying to save time by using someone else's model. Ha.

          Thanks for the help.
