  • rendering maya fluids + pre render export

    Hey,

I'm trying to render a cached maya fluid container. I have the pheonix demo installed with vray for maya 2.2 and maya 2012. Even though the fluid is cached vray does a pre render export, locally and on the farm, and runs through the timeline when rendering any given frame. How do I turn this off? I don't have use camera path or fly through mode on for light cache or irradiance map. Please help.

In the nightly builds and the latest stable builds there is an environment variable MAYA_DISABLE_BATCH_RUNUP which you can set to 1 to prevent the pre-render export, but if you are using the official build, it's not there.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

There is no way to avoid this with vray 2.2?

It might work to modify one of the Maya scripts related to batch rendering - dynRunupForBatchRender() to do essentially nothing, as described here: http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...dynRunupFor%2A

That post was for hair though; I don't know if it will work for fluids.

        Best regards,
