  • Anistropy sub sampling problem

    V-Ray for Maya version 2.25.01, revision 22615 from Dec 21 2012, on Maya 2013 SP2 Win 7 64bit

I’m having a problem sub sampling on super fine details. The Image on the left is the object in its native resolution. The image on the right is the same image rendered at a 6x resolution then scaled to same resolution. This is for a material that needs the super fine detail for a close up in an animation and needs to maintain the anisotropy effect created by the detailed bump. I have tried different AA modes and sample types and can’t seem to force more subsamples to generate the same results. If anyone has any ideas please let me know since the only option I have at the moment is to render this one element at a much higher resolution and then scale down.

Is the detail geometric detail, or a bump/displacement map? Have you tried a different AA filter?

    Best regards,
