  • maya fluids + motionblurred geo mattes

    Hey,

We're using vray 2.2 for maya with pheonix fd demo for shaders. My question is this: We have fluids and geometry with Matte object enabled. We need the geometry to be motion blurred to line up with the geo renders in comp but we do not want the fluid to be motion blurred. In fact since we aren't caching out velocity for the fluids and it won't render at all with motionblur enabled. Is there anyway to disable motion blur for maya fluids with vray?

I think we added a motion blur multiplier for the fluids at one point, but I'll need to check when and where.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Hm, we have velocity MB multiplier in Phoenix, but not for Maya fluids yet. From the shading quality you can disable the full motion blur. I must check this issue with not rendering without velocity.

Can't reproduce the rendering issue here. For better fluid support you really need to use the nightlies.

Unfortunately, we're stuck on 2.2 for the time being. I try the "disable full motion blur" in the shading quality tab.

I'm not seeing the "disable full motion blur" option you're talking about.

"disable full motion blur" option is also new. You can try to render with the VRayEnvironmentFog shader. It should not do motion blur.
