  • "Coverage" render element will render locally but not on our farm

    Hi guys,

I created a very simple scene (attached) to replicate this error. And its still happening.

The coverage pass render element renders as expected when rendering locally to the vray frame buffer. When i send the scene to the farm. The coverage pass render element is nowhere to be seen, as if it wasnt set up to render.

    Any Ideas?

    softwares and versions:

    maya 2011
    vray 2.25.01 20120831

I would suggest to update your vray build/maya version as there surely lots of improvements in vray especially. For the render elements, you can check to make sure that you are rendering a render layer, where the coverage pass is enabled.

We did a quick test with the last nightly build and it works correctly.
Please download it and test it in your environment.

        Thanks Morbid and Svetlozar,

The element is active for my render layer, so its not that.

Systems are going to update to the latest build and then i'll test it on MAYA2011 and MAYA2013.
Ill let you know what happens!

        Thanks again,

        Ali

It would be a good idea to do a quick test before installing the latest Nightly.
Nighties are not very stable builds - so it is best run a few jobs on a few machines before reinstalling it on the whole farm.
