Cool thanks. Also is it necessary to have camera path turned on? I've found this increases computation time.

Question :
If i have moving objects, can you confirm that i need to bake 1 LC by frame ?
If yes : i have to add a pre-render script to set the frame number in the LC file ?

I know Vlado already answered this but just to make sure... I have a moderately paced camera move over 200 frames with static objects. I would like to use Brute force with LC. Do I just turn on use camera path or, should I save out a flythrough?KEITH ROGERS

You shouldn't need to save a light cache. I usually use BF as primary and LC as secondary on fur renderings. What is it your trying to render? With the correct settings you shouldn't need to do any caching.
My setup is something like:
Adaptive DMC 2-12, threshold 0.007, guassian filter 2
Brute as primary with default settings, LC as secondary with 2500 subdivs, "use lightcache for glossy rays" and "use retrace threshold" checked. Refractive and reflective caustics unchecked
Make sure your working in linear workflow, in colour mapping setup:
gamma 2.2, "affect background" and "don't affect colors" checked.
Render as .exr files, and check "convert image to srgb for renderview"
The dmc might need to be tweaked depending on what your rendering. Haven't had flicker problems in ages and we render pretty much everything that you can imagine Only thing I've had flickering on has been sss but setting the prepass rate to 1 or 2 fixes that.

Hey Johan, Thanks for your reply. Your settings are not too dissimilar to what I have. I was just troubleshooting a scene and I was a little unclear on whether you needed to cache the LC like you would if using IR and a primary map. I guess if your recalculating on every frame anyway it doesn't matter. More time saving than anything. If you interested I was rendering a perfume bottle made out of 100 or so other perfume bottles in a sculpture with camera moves going around it. Pretty insane prospect and a little scary to render but I got it done.
