  • Odd behaviour with "enabled" animated lights

This is odd. Its so simple that I must be doing/understanding something wrong.

I've animated "enable" parameter of two vray lights, for have one of it lighting at frame 1, and another lightning at frame 2.

If I render every single frame by myself, two renders are correct.

If I check "animation" in render settings, and then do render, Vray renders two times the same frame.

I I check the option for only render animations using batch render, and do a batch render, resulting images are equals.

Am I doing something wrong, or Vray is failing?.

Here scene (just a plane, and two animated lights)

I tested it with a nighlty of past decemeber. I've downloaded last nightly 14/04/2013 and still happens. Win7x64, maya2012.

    Hi,

It seems to be a bug. It will also fail if you try to animate the intensities to get the same result (for the sphere lights at least). We'll take note to fix that and in the meantime maybe you can animate the color value of the sphere light, if it would do the trick for your project. We'll let you know as soon as we have this fixed.

Allways a pleasure report bugs. Thank you for your hard work, and thanks for the workaround.

Just a small addition to my previous post. Actually animating the intensities for the sphere lights should work, it's only the "enabled" parameter that won't.
