  • vray fatal error

I've got a scene here that keeps returning a fatal error. I don't know why. I have deleted all unknown nodes, I have rebuilt the scene, I have done everything I know how and am still getting a fatal error. Would someone be able to take a look at it for me an see if they can diagnose the problem?

    I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks!

    Hi,

It'll be helpful if you can share the scene here or send it to vraymaya@chaosgroup.com. Additionally it would be good to know what vray/maya versions you are using and what OS you're running.

      Ok.

      We're on Windows 7 x64
      We're on Maya 2013 x64 Service Pack 2
      We're on V-Ray for Maya version 2.25.01, revision 22704 from Feb 4 2013

I thought I couldn't post the scene, because it was too big but it was using referenced files and even with the references removed it still won't render.

So please find the attached scene. Guardian_11_noRef.zip
I'm eager to find out what the problem is.

      Thanks!

Thanks for sharing the sample scene, we found what was causing the issue. The problem was the file that was connected as an image plane to the render camera (camera1 in your scene). We had an issue when the file path was missing or wrong. This has been fixed, so trying one of the more recent nightlies should have this working.
