I have got a very simple setup which is similar to the Doug Trumble Slitscan technique from 2001 a space odyssey. The camera is animated on every frame to move forward whilst looking through a stationary slit at some artwork behind which is moving slowly right to left over 200 frames. The camera is animated on Z to truck in from frame 1 to frame 1.99 where it returns to the start position at frame 2. This motion is cycled for every frame.
Motion Blur is enabled to produce the streak photography effect on each frame and is set to slightly less than 1 frame duration to miss the camera return to start motion at the very end of the cycle. It is rendering perfectly every single frame test render. Frames are taking about 4 mins with the motion Blur samples set at 32.
When I try to batch render the animation either in maya batch or vray standalone I get a series of blank black frames which take no time to render at all. I might add that vray standalone also renders a single frame without any problems.
I have exported the vray scene as a single file not with the every frame as a seperate file option.
What is the cause of the failure to render an animation? What is a solution to this rather frustrating problem? I have considered that exporting every frame as a seperate file may be the way forward, but my pathetic scripting skills rather hold me back on attempting to automate the animation render process from single frame files.
Thanks for any help.
