  • Ratio of a cube map render?

I'm doing a 360 of a cabin and need to render out a cube map. I've set the Camera type to "Box", checked "Override FOV" and then the FOV to 360. It renders nicely and seems to have captured all the 360 around it. However, I can't seem to get all the "sides" of the cube map to be square, which I need. I first tried with a completely square render, 1024 x 1024, but then the separate squares looked squashed. Then I tried with a 3:4 ratio (since there were 3 X 4 "tiles"). Then I get the middle part of the box totally square, but not the rest of them.

Soo... What render dimensions should I use in order to get all of the sides totally square?

    Hi,

It will be helpful if you post a screenshot.
Also Im attaching a simple scene that is set for cube map camera render, you can try it.

I'll see if I can post a render of it (sensetive material).

Thanks for the file. Although that file illustrates my problem. If you look at the rendered result, there are a total of 6 rectangles. I need those rectangles to be squares (each would be 1024 x 1024 ideally). It works fine otherwise in my scene, I just need them to be square.

          Thanks!

I tried with the same ratio for a 768x1024, but it still was different square sizes. However, the guy who's making it interactive said it worked anyway, so this morning I put a 3072 x 4096 on the farm =) We'll see how it goes.
