  • installer for multiple versions of Maya on OSX

is there a way to get the installer to have the ability to install for more than one version of Maya on OSX? I mean if I have the 2013 version installed when I try to install for 2014 it uninstalls the copy for 2013. The only thing I have been able to thing of was to make a copy of my 2013 folder before uninstalling. and then replace it after the 2014 installer is done.

I mena it is not uncommon for a studio to have more than one version of Maya installed. it would be nice if we could have a list of the installed versions of Maya and then check off the ones that we want to install Vray to.

What versions of OSX and V-Ray do you use?
As far as I know the installer should work the way you desire, it might be some bug.
Can you describe the steps you do during installation?

yeah the newer command line "nightly betas" ones do. But not the Gui ones like what the "production builds" have.

i'm assuming though that once the newer versions go final that they would get the GUI installer. And when you use the Gui installer it alway uninstalls any version currently installed. Just saying hopefully you guys can do something about this going forward

        Hi,

Generally the V-Ray installer will remove only previously installed build for the current Maya version.
If i understand you correct, the nightly V-Ray build for Maya 2014 will uninstall the 2013 build.
Can you specify the exact V-Ray version (MacOS) that you are using for Maya 2014?
