  • making a ton of separate curves renderable?

I need to apply the renderable parameter to a bunch of separate curves but I am wondering if it's easier than scripting it to go through and assign them on a per-curve basis. Is there a quick way to do this to a group of curves?

Splines? If they're all going to have the same thickness, you can select all the splines and drop a 'Renderable Spline' modifier on them all together and adjust the settings from there.

He is in maya, the method there would be to select your curves or the group of curves and go to create/vray/vray renderable curve/ apply single node to selection. In that node then you can check the width and also assign a shader.

What version of vray for maya has the vray renderable curve object? I'm currently using vray 2.20 for maya, and don't see that option in the create>vray> menu

Also currently just creating the curve attribute on all the curves with a script.

Officially, yes. It's been available in the nightlies too for a while and you can email us to vraymaya@chaosgroup.com if you are interested in them.

                Best regards,
