Does the check box for hide render view actually work?

I'm using Maya 2014 EXT1 on OSX and the production build of Vray for Maya 2014 and now matter what I do render view pops up. this is really annoying especially since I'm not using it.

I think its fixed for vray 3 builds. Here is how I go around it...

As Morbid said, it's fixed for the 3.x builds, but we had to disable that functionality in 2.x due to some crashes.
