  • Blank vray common tab and error message

Is this a common thing? It's happening on several of our machines here in the office but I goggled and searching the vray forums here and haven't found anything yet. It might not even be a vray problem. Could be a maya problem.
Anyway, the issue is when I open up the vray settings window the common tab it is completely blank. If I got do a different tab and come back it will have populated with the proper UI.

    It gives me this error:
Please check the Script Editor for details. //
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2013/scripts/others/createMayaSoftwareCommonGlobalsTab.mel line 48: setParent: Object 'commonTabColumn' not found. //

Is there a way to fix this? Does anyone know how this started happening in the first place?
    Thanks!

The V-Ray installation modifies createMayaSoftwareCommonGlobalsTab.mel to fix this error message; however for some reason Maya still loads the original file. Did you run the V-Ray installation, or you are loading it from a network location?

Hmmm. I'm not certain. I can check with our IT guy. And maybe I'll try a fresh install.

I've seen this error also if you click on the render settings button very fast after Maya startup. It seems like a Maya issue.

Does it appear correctly after closing and re-opening the render settings?
