  • maya fluids + Pheonix FD shader

    Hey,

We're using vray for maya 2.45 here at work and I've been doing alot of tests with maya fluids using the Pheonix FD shader under the extra fluid attributes tab. I'm not currently seeing any difference in render time using either Pheonix FD option or Environment fog. Am I missing something? Even with the Lightcache option checked and using 1 bounce of scatter I see no render time difference at all. Please advise.

It's probably not using Phoenix at all for some reason (maybe V-Ray can't find the Phoenix shaders); this is easy to check - export a .vrscene and search for "Phoenix" inside it.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Or check the Output Window for Phoenix messages. VRay 2.x needs a separate Phoenix FD isntallation.
