  • Vray IES light not working as expected

Or maybe my expectations are off.

I'm loading a ies profile for a dual fluorescent light and when I load the light profile into the Vray IES light the sale updates to the rectangle shape of the fluorescent light.

But then I and only getting a little stop of like from the very center of the light. why do I not get light illuminating from the full length of the light? I mean if this is as expected what is the point of the having the ling take on the length of the light only to not product the light from anywhere but the center?

the light is a Cooper Fluorescent Luminaires EVFDR Series evf22062.ies
the files can be obtained here:

I dont understand I mean if it is supposed to emulate the tubes then shouldn't it go the full length?

here is what the light looks like thought he model I'm using is of a longer variation..

Hmm, we have an option to distribute the samples according to the light shape, but it looks like it's not in the UI. Will make a note to add it.

    Best regards,

It didn't work as I expected it; I've made a note to look into, but it will take a while to get there. In the meantime you can probably approximate this with a rectangle light.
