  • Batch render with references

    Hi,

I am trying to batch render a file with reference in it.
However when starting the batch, all the reference are imported.
    Is this a normal behaviour?

I am on maya 2014 and using:
    [2014/Mar/25|09:49:34] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 2.30.02 from Sep 9 2013, 23:19:44
    [2014/Mar/25|09:49:34] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 2.00.01

    Thanks,

No, it is not a normal behavior - a reference shouldn't be imported during rendering or batch rendering.
Have you got this issue on all scenes or it is isolated case ?
What exactly happen with the imported reference - does it disappear from the Reference Editor after batch-rendering ?
Would it be possible to send us the scene for investigation ?

      Hi Svetlozar,

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have manage to send the file to our farm and the file was file. It seems it only happened when batch rendering locally.
The reference objects got imported in the Maya file and weren't referenced, making the file much larger.

In the end I created some proxy which I referenced in and it all seem to work now.

        Thanks for the feedback.

Would it be possible to perform two more test?

        1) Try to batch-render the same scene on different machine.
        2) Try to render different scene on the same machine.

The idea is to find out whether the issue is scene dependent or machine-dependent.
