  • flag "-reg" with backburner

    Hi there,

We're trying to render regions via "-reg" flag through backburner, but vray returns "invalid flag".

We've tried with "-cam" and "-rl" and they work properly.

Is "-reg" a mental ray flag?

Does Vray have its own "-reg" flag? If so, which is it?

    Thanks.

    Ferran.

-reg is a VRay flag. Are you sure you've passed vray as renderer?

      Hi,

In the Brackburner dialoge maya window we've set "from the scene file" in the renderer option.

We've also tried "render -r vray -help"in de command line but we doesn't find "-reg" as an available vray flag.

      Ferran.

Backburner doesn't support specific V-Ray render command line options like “-reg”. This is because instead of the parameter "-r vray" that implicitly set V-Ray as the renderer of the image, Backburner uses "-r file" which cannot handle specific options of V-Ray.
In order to find out what are the command line parameters that you can use in Backburner "Additional Options" please open CMD and type the command:

        [MAYA_ROOT]/bin/Render -r file -help

where [MAYA_ROOT] should be substituted with the path to Maya root folder.

We've solved that with "Use Custom Command" checkbox in backburner window.

We've replaced the "-r file" for "-r vray". Now "-reg" works well with vray and backburner!

          Thanks.
