  • spots and light leaks even on highest settings.

    I have been trying to get this thing to render for a week but I can't seem to get rid of the light leaks and spots.

    Lights:

    V-ray Rectangle lights with a intensity multiplier of 10,000.00

    U=12
    V=56

    Subdivs=96

    IR Map:

    Very High preset

    Light cache:

    Passes: 32
    subdivs: 2000

    Sample size: .050

    world scale : on
    adaptive sampling: on

    depth :100
    Filter Samples:5
    mode : single frame.

    I have tried taking the sub dives as high as 5000 but it really doesn't seem to have any effect.

    What is your scene unit scale? You can probably eliminate the light leaks by changing the LC sample size. But since I don't know the scale I can't advise if you should increase it or decrease it.

      Try enabling 'Retrace' for your Light Cache.

        In your IM, try to increase the interp. samples to something like 60. This will smooth the samples, reducing the light leaking effect.

          I've tried both of these suggestions (yours and the below) and they never solve the issue for me, changing the LC sample size is the only fix I've found.

            Is the error due to the irradiance map, or the light cache? You can check if you re-render that region with the same light cache (saved to a file), but with brute force GI for primary bounce. It will help to determine where to look.

              I got rid of the light leak. and I have almost gotten rid of the spots. Retrace and turned off world scale and turned the size back down to .020. I have my interpose up to that helped a lot,
