  • BRDFVRayMtl can't do off a shader override Environment

    Hi.

I test BRDFVrayMtl for use energy preservation mode.
When I tested environment with HDR or VRaySun/Sky used render settings Override Environment, a render result is incorrect.
I noticed that BRDFVrayMtl can't do off a shader environment override.
Will you change a shader environment override behavior like VrayMtl?
I test Vray 3.0 beta version.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I think that I managed to reproduce the issue but it would be nice if you could send us your setup/scene just in case.
Is there any particular reason to prefer using BRDFVrayMtl instead VrayMtl?

      Hi.

      I uploaded a test scene.
I want to use BRDFVraymtl for use energy preservation mode.
If VrayMtl have energy preservation mode, I will use VrayMtl.

All Vray materials have energy preservation mode which is ON by default.
BRDFVrayMtl material produce different result because of Environment Override map/color - if you plug VraySky-node into that slot it will generate the same result as VrayMtl.

Yes, there is an issue with this since it's a 3ds Max material and it's working slightly different there (exporting environment texture only if there is really a texture attached). Currently the only way is to set the environment override in the BRDFVRayMtl parameters also.
