    Hi Folks,

    I'm using the metaball surface for some goo effects using a nightly of 2.45 for maya. It seems that I can't give it an object ID to use in the multimatte render element though? I've tried assigning the object Id to both the metaball surface (which comes out as a transform node in maya - must fix the naming of it) and to the particle object that's added in to the metaball set. Any thoughts or is this already fixed in a newer nightly?

    Edit - turns out it works with material ID via your shader, just not the object ID.

      Yeah it's given us a few fatal errors in scenes, oddly when the metaball surface has gone out of shot. Bear in mind I haven't a clue what I'm doing with particles in maya though. What'd be an awesome feature for us at the minute (in the six hours I have left working with maya) would be the ability to take object verts as particles. At the minute we've a character made of slime and he has to splat into a wall so we're using particles for an impact splat and then flattening out the main character body. It'd be great to add the object's vertices and the particles from the splat into one group and make a continuous surface to render. Do it in max first though if it's not there already

          I'll try alright, if the file will error with just the metaballs and particles in the scene I'll fire it over.
