  • Tiled .exr exception error during animation caching.

    I'm currently involved in a production where the characters are textured using tiled EXR's in UDIM texture space. The textures are exported from Mari as 8bit .tga's and convert to tiled exr's via the Vray .exr tool. We're experiencing a exception error which occurs when pre-calculating the irradiance map for animations. The first irradiance map will render and save successfully but as soon as the second begins the following error occurs and kills the render. This error only occurs during the caching of irradiance maps for animations, everything renders successfully for stills.

    // Error: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread //

    Switching the tiled .exr to any other format resolves this problem, rendering all irradiance maps correctly. However as the characters are extremely texture heavy we prefer to use tiled .exrs's for the memory benefits.

    .. but maybe not related. Is it possible for you to send a scene to the support?

      This thread does seem like the same issue but no result is found there either.
