  • Vray 3.05.02 for maya rect light alpha not working

I'm using vray 3.05.02 for maya 2015 and I cant seem to get my rect lights to have any transprency. I have connected the alpha of the image to the rect alpha using the connection editor. Its there something new I should be doing or am I missing something?

    Seems to work fine here.

What kind of texture are you using?
I've tried with a png (that has alpha) and with checker. Both worked.
I've just connected the outColor to rectTex.

The image did not have an alpha.. but it worked when I told the image to use luminace as alpha. In 2.4 of vray I was able to connect any of the r,g,b channels to the alpha input on a vray light, that does not seem to be working now.

Can you post a scene for that? It may be a bug that we need to fix.

        Best regards,

Are you talking about the attribute rectTexA?

that's it, that's what I was trying to use the rectTexA. I will post a small scene today too.

here is a link to the sample scene showing the problem.

I have a map, without an alpha, and I'd like the red channel to drive the alpha.

Thanks for all your help, Vray is awesome
