VRay 3 on Vista

We are having an issue installing VRay beta 3 on Vistax64. official and nightly release.

The error is...

Any ideas?

The env. vars are not set up properly. Did you install V-Ray, or do you run it from a shared location?

Hi Vlado, we installed locally. (installed from desktop).

You can try to log out and then back in and see if it fixes it. If not, the env. vars can be set up manually, but let me know how it goes first.

Follow the common procedure - uninstall, delete the vray folder, delete the env vars and install again.

OK thanks though I thought the installer deleted all pre installed vars!
Vista is only on one PC here and will be updated soon. I have cleaned it of all VRay bits and pieces, and windows in now updating so will be back with result soon.

OK same issue,

1. fully uninstalled all version of VRAY (2012- 2015) and vars
2. restarted
3. installed latest Beta3.
4. restart

Same error.

Ok then, can you open a command prompt, type "set" without the quotes and show me the result?

Ok, hold on for a bit - we have a single machine with Vista here, let me see if I can get Maya 2015 to run there.

So we can reproduce this here; I have not looked into the exact reason for this. Will try to fix it, however keep in mind that Maya 2015 is not officially supported on Windows Vista.
