  • VRayDomeLight primary visibility bug?

    Hi,

    I have attached a scene. I can't work out why the domelight is not showing up in the render.
    • Primary visibility is checked
    • No "Skip Rendering" nodes present
    • LOD and Visibility is on in the shape node.

    Are you sure you've not set the Invisible attribute on the LightDome shape node?

      The scene seems ok and renders fine with 3.0. Should check what is going on with 2.45

        Unfortunately I don't believe it's possible to do this? At least in my version, it is possible on the transform node only;

        Make sure to render through newCamera1 which is a physical camera. The odd thing is the dome light appears in the persp camera, but not the physical camera.
        It shouldn't be a matter of exposure because it doesn't turn up in the alpha either.

            Hello,

            To make the DomeLight show up - you can turn on "Auto Render Clip Plane" option for the camera or just turn up the "Far Clip Plane" to its max value.

            Thank you,

              Thank you very much for your help. It is a relief it is such a simple thing.

              I didn't realise the domelight was an object "per se", but it makes sense since now since it also contributes to the alpha.

                Well, it's more of a side effect . The dome light should be "infinite far", and always visible I think. There is an option to make it invisible, so we should fix this clipping.
