render settings not saved with scene

Has anyone encountered this issue upon saving a scene, the render settings revert to default on opening.

Latest nightly vray 3 build. vray_adv_30504_maya2015_x64_25041

What could be causing this?

PS I also "set preferred preset" as a new default, but this also get ignored even though it is ticked!

Do you have any referenced scenes? Is it possible that one of them drags in a vraySettings node?

All assets in the scene are assembly references so no standard maya referencing going on. I have turned all to locator so no scene file are loaded.

When I select the vraysettings node in the outliner i get this error...

select -r vraySettings ;

Hi,

I was not able to replicate the issue using your scene file. Tried with Maya 2015 and Maya 2015 Ext 1 and V-Ray _25041.
Do you use any additional plugins for this scene (Mentalray for an example)? If yes, try to unload them?

Can i just ask that did you apply render settings then save the scene. Open again and see if the settings remained?

I wont be able to upload all assets NDA in place.

I will unload mental ray as we dont use it anyway.

Yes, I did > Opened the scene > changed few settings for AA, GI, Render elements > saved the file (tried with just a Save and Save as..) > exit Maya > opened the file again
