Yes I remember I also remember it being fixed. I have a official copy of Vray I tried even creating a new material and opening the editor but it crashes as well. I also deleted my user prefs file and restarted maya and still same crash. I can use the material but I am unable to edit the material. Is it worth doing a reinstall of Vray Update tried to do a reinstall this does not work either still crashes I just checked and this does not happen in maya 2014 only in maya 2015. I will try and check and see if there is some interference with any loaded plugin.
Okay I unloaded all the plugins no luck there
Here's the post from the crash log

set | findstr PYTHON
Maya 2012 was setting it to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2012\Python\lib\site-packages
I don't think newer Maya versions set it any more globally. But first try to start Maya 2015 with proper env var from a bat file with this content:
set PYTHONPATH=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2015\Python\lib\site-packages
"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2015\bin\maya"
And see if this works. My guess is that newer Maya versions do not need PYTHONPATH and it can be just deleted, but other software may still use it. So the bat file is the safest way to go.V-Ray/PhoenixFD for Maya developer

Hello I know it has been some time since this post for the most part i have been working around it but I am starting a project with a colleague and he is using max and I am using maya it would be great to share materials. I have just tried the below resolution but the file still crashes. I can create the material but when I go to open the editor maya 2015 crashes every time. I can do this in maya 2014 but in maya 2015 i only get crashes.
Sorry I should say I am using maya 2015 sp5 and vray 3.01 the latest official release.
thanks, jimmyLast edited by Jvincentfx45; 31-03-2015, 12:03 PM.
