lights in local render vs render farm

I have a weird situation...
I sent my scene to a render farm, got it back.. but comparing a frame, my 3 lights show up in my local renders but on a farm, the lights aren't in the reflections but there's no difference in lighting... there are specular highlights, but the lights are hidden in the reflection and I can't seem to figure it out..
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi,

This is a very weird issue.
What are the OS on your render farm and local machine?
Are you able to replicate it even with a simple scene setup?
Can you post an image that shows the difference ?

I have Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, I'm running V-Ray version 3.00.01
The farm I'm using is Fox Render Farm, they are running Windows 7 64-bit OS but they said some are Windows 7 32-bit...and their V-Ray version is 3.00.03

I couldn't replicate the issue on my end. I have tried turning on and off the affect reflection and specular options but it changed the lighting in the scene when I did that. I tried looking for render settings...no luck

It would be best if you can send us this scene to make a test in our environment. Please post it here or send directly to our support mail - support@chaosgroup.com
We will render the scene using both V-Ray versions and compare the results. However, there is newer service pack for V-Ray 3 available for download on our web site 3.10.02. You can update your current build.

I just sent it for you
you'll need the realflow plugin for the attached .bin file, I only included the first frame (frame 0)
Also, I have Maya, not max and I just downloaded the latest build the other day and still got the same render

Version 3.00.03 does not exist.
Would you please contact Fox Render Farm again and ask them for the exact V-Ray and Maya versions that they are using.
If they are using a Nightly Build we will need to know also the exact Revision Number.

they told me they are using 3.05.04... as for revision, I'm working on that
Just an FYI, I updated my version of v-ray to 3.05.04 revision 224509 once my nightlies access got squared away and still same issue with the renders

Here is what they said in a skype chat:

sir , as i double check with our TD , for your revision number , we do not have , since it does not have green edition , but he suggests you can run a test for vray3.05

I don't know where to go from there....you might want to try asking them. No matter how many ways I try to ask, I don't think they understand.

I actually got the same result between the latest official build and the latest nightly one.

Can you show us the result (official/nightly) from the scene you sent us?

on my local render, I got the same result you got, official build and the latest nightly were the same.
It's only on their farm where the difference was (the pics posted above)
they tried to troubleshoot it on their end but I'm not sure what happened with it...

Would it be possible to ask Fox Render Farm to update V-Ray version either to the latest official one or to the latest nightly one and run the same test.
If the same issue appears again let them contact us directly at support@chaosgroup.com and we will help with the troubleshooting.
