Hello,
I am looking for a feature, not sure if it's hidden somewhere or it just doesn't exist in VRay yet. I'm in Vray 3.05.04 (api version 201400) in Maya 2014 Linux. I'm looking for a way to create a motion blur set, where I could basically add an equivalent to an object properties node (ideally just add this feaure to that node) to a shared number of objects, and specify if those objects render motion blur or not as a checkbox. Additionally, in the render global, there would be an option under the motion blur rollout that would allow the user to specify either the current (motion blur on) and these object properties nodes could be attached to any objects you DON'T want motion blur on and have it turned off on those, or the inverse, where you have it attached to the ones you want to render with motion blur ONLY, and in the globals there's a checkbox to only render motion blur on the specified nodes based on this object properties setting. Also, it would be good if this feature additionally carried through to Proxies and was mantained inside of those.
An example of where this would be useful would be in a spot where there are hundreds of cars being rendered and the plate was shot at high frame rate, so the cars themselves don't need to have motion blur on them, but the wheels and tires still show some in the plate so you want those parts only to render with motion blur. Currently, this has to be rendered as two separate passes and comped.
Anyway, please let me know if there is a current way to accomplish this that I am missing, or if this can be added to a new build at some point. Thanks!
