      vlado im back... and still wondering why is there so much black in the vray render...
      i used your scene and just lowered the light intensity to get the slight gradient on the bright wall in front...

        Because of adaptive sampling and low brute force GI subdivs. The image will be filled in eventually and the dark areas will disappear. It will help if you increase either the min. shading rate, or the min. subdivs for the image sampler.

        Beyond that, you will save a lot of render time if you use the light cache (of course, if you have time to waste, that's another matter )

          thanks for info Vlado.
          there is a reason why i try to do it this way. we use the progressive sampler as preview renderer for the nightlies.
          just to make sure the render is finished on the next day to check the animation. noise does not matter in this case.

          the difference from bf bf to bf lc isnt that much.
          we use bf lc now.
