  • IES Lights Invisible to Camera

I asked this as part of another thread but didn't get an answer and can't seem to find any conclusive info on it by googling/searching forums

If a camera is looking at a VrayLightIES node, should the light source be visible to the camera? It shows in reflections/refractions and casts shadows, etc, but the source itself is never actually visible as it would it with a VrayLightRect or VrayLightSphere. Is this expected behavior, or am I missing something?

    thanks.

IES Light is basically a fancy spot light, it's not an area light.

Like Ivaylo noted, currently the IES lights are just point lights with some special light distribution.
