  • "renderer vray is not reigstered yet" - batch

    Hey,
have a big problem with the batch. i don't know why (maybe after a nightly), but my vray stopped to work in batch mode.
a few days ago, it worked normal and now, it stopped working in batch mode, normal renderings are fine.
    Always getting this error:

    Code:
    [2015/Jun/10|01:26:16] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 3.05.04, revision 25889 from Jun 9 2015, 13:28:41

Its not working with maya 2014 or 2016. Even tried an empty scene, but getting the same error, dongle is plugged and tried an older build, same problem. and like i said, rt and a normal single frame is working.
when i unload the vray plugin in maya and try to load it again, i am getting an error, that vray couldn't be initialized and maya crashs directly afterwards.

Any ideas what i should try next ?

That's odd. Can you tell us the build number of the build that was actually working ?

I think script errors can make Maya refuse to report that the redenrer was loaded, but I can't see errors in the output. Another thing is, like always to make sure you run Render.exe with the full path.

started the batch directly from the maya interface not with a commandline, so should work.
is there a way to include the build version in the meta data ? really hard to tell, but should be something around build 25828

just deinstalled vray (and phoenix) from my machine and tried an older build. same problem, when i deactivat the plugin and try to active it again, i get this error in the output window:
        Code:
        [2015/Jun/10|22:46:20] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 3.05.04, revision 25854 from Jun 1 2015, 06:53:18

was able to fix it, just remove my whole maya settings and copied most of it back in the new fresh folder, works again. not sure how updating screwed these files, but its working.

but like i said, would be marvelous to add the build version to the metadata of the exr, just to keep track

Is there a reason why you're unloading the vray plugin from Maya? We had some problems in such situations and for the moment it is not very safe to force unload it and then load it back again.

No real reason, just tried it in a completely empty scene (no need to "force ") to see, if he is able to load the corresponding...*.dll but probably a complete different error and not related
