  • Rendering Exception Error

    I am getting errors occurring when trying to render a file in maya using Vray.
    The file has displacement, xgen hair and GI. I am also rendering render layers which include render passes.
    It is unclear what is triggering the errors as I have plenty of ram, but it seems to hang whilst rendering without failing the frame.

    Has anyone seen anything like the below before? If so, how would one go about solving these issues?

    // Error: line 1: Exception [module=1] : Rendering region (464,20-(480,224)
    or
    // Error: line 1: Exception [module=2] : Irradiance map thread

    Thanks in advance.

    Would it be possible to send that file for investigation?
    Does it crash if GI is disabled?

      I have tried turning GI off and also changing the type of GI. It works intermittently but I don't think it has anything to do with the GI. I've got the file running at the moment with no render passes so I have a feeling it may be something to do with that. I will try to rebuild the render passes, but I'd love to know what the error actually means.

        The error is actually a crash during rendering that we catched. Without a scene it will be difficult to say more.
