  • Does Sample-rate pass not work when saving out to deepEXR?

I couldn't find any posts about this, or anything in the documentation.
Does Sample-rate pass not work when saving out to deepEXR?
On another related issue (I can make another thread if necessary) Would it be possible/desirable to have the ability to specif which passes are saved to the deepEXR (multilayer) or are saved to individual exrs? It's probably not that necessary now that EXR's can be more efficiently streamed, but for checking debug render passes it would be handy to have them outside the multilayer EXRs.

The sample rate pass is purely a 2D pass. What would you expect its value to be for the deep points? The number of samples that contribute to each point?

    Best regards,

It's been requested before, but the way the EXR output is implemented right now, it's a bit difficult to do it.

Yup. I appreciate that it's not relevant in a deep pass, but it is a useful pass to have to see if any shader is misbehaving.... not that appears to be much of an issue any more with v3.

Ah I see you last reply. Fair enough, I had a feeling that if it was possible you would have done it long before now
