  • Physical camera problem in vray 3.1

Hi I just upgraded to 3.1 and it seems the physical camera is missing the distortion map connection (distortion type texture).

Seems to be there. Switching the distortion type to "texture" should enable a slider with a connection map option called "distortion map".

Is that not the case for you? What Maya version are you using and on what OS?

Problem solved! It seems to be caused by a script we created to automatically enable the physical camera feature. The script worked fine with vray 3 but seems that on 3.1 the camera does not show distortion map and lens file connections. However enabling it manually from attributes it works fine. I am using maya 2015 on windows 7.

What kind of script are you using?
Are you calling the vray command to add the attributes?
Does it fail to do so?

I don't know exactly why it worked before and now is not, unfortunately I can't check now (in the middle of a rushy production) so I have to do it manually. It is a simple mel script that add all the physical cam attributes and set some values differently than default ones.

OK, if you find some time after the production is finished don't hesitate to report it and we will try to fix it or help you to write the script properly.
