  • slave cannot find license (10060)

    Hi,

ok, ive got two PC's , i'm trying to get one to act as a slave, i launch the vray render slave and it seems to start up and wait for a render command, then on the main computer DR is enabled with the Ip address and port all setup .
When I hit render ypu can see the slave start to receive the scene etc but then it says could not obtain license (10060) .

    main computer , win 7 , maya 2015, vray 3.1,

    slave computer, win 10 , maya 2015, vray 3.1

license dongle is plugged into the main machine, i checked the status ( http://localhost:30304/getstatus)

    Product 0_____af Total Engaged Free
    Render licenses 6 0 6
    Interface licenses 0 0 0
    DR licenses 0 0 0

    any pointers appreciated
    regards

Have you tried to render locally on the second machine?
Just export a vrscene from maya and do vray -sceneFile=my.vrscene file.
If this doesn't work, then you should probably run the setvrlservice tool manually.

The error code (10060) means the slaves could not connect to the specified license server machine - either because the name of the machine is wrong, or some firewall is blocking the connection.

          hi all ,

ok still having some issues with DR renders ,
the slave is receiving the vrscene successfully etc , prepares the renderer... and then i get the error 100060 message again,

          I've created exceptions on both machines antivirus for "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\VRLService" and "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray" , is the anything else i should add ?

if i check the localhost:30304 i can see 6 free render licenses but in the DR licenses its all 0 0 0 is this correct ?

          thanks for any help

Most probably the issue is in the firawall/anti-virus or incorrect name/IP address of the license server. You can try to stop your firewall/anti-virus very fast just to check whether the issue still persist.
If that doesn't help please double check the configuration of the license server: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...SettingsChange

              hi Zdravko,
              hope all is well,

sorry for taking a while to get back,
ok I have stopped the antivirus software on both machines (avast ) also disabled windows fire wall on both machines and attempted to do DR, the slave pc (win10) receives the scene , but still can't obtain a license 10060, checked the license too ( please see attached)

the main computer is running win7 and the slave is running win 10 , could this be causing the issue ?

plus: I've uninstalled and re installed the software and no change

              kind regards

i've also got a macbook pro late 2011 which is now saying "program needs WIBU-BOX with 250897:7......01.

found an old youtube vid on wibu issues suggesting downloading the 64 bit only version of the wibu key for users... good idea ?

                thanks and regards

ok, moved the dongle to a different computer and updated the license settings on the other two and now it seems that they can find the license... but now both slaves seem to start receiving the DR scene from the client and then report an error " error: Error receiving DR scene (0), closing DR session" any tips please ?

It would be best to contact our support guys at support@chaosgroup.com and perhaps arrange a remote session so that they can check what's going on.

                    Best regards,
