  • Vray 3.1 RT too sensitive for the hypershade node selection

    Hi,

When I RT (CPU) is rendering and simply clicking a node without changing any of its parameter's value in the Hypershade, RT will "detect" as if some value is changed and start re-rendering. Oftentimes, I am simply jumping between nodes to check and decide which parameter to dial in and expect RT only re-render when a parameter actually is changed.

I didn't experience this when I was on Maya 2014 or 2015 in the old Hypershade.

    system: Maya 2016 SP1 with Vray 3.1 (nightly build 8-13-2015) on Win 7 x64.

    Best,
    Jason

I can't manage to reproduce the issue. Does it happen constantly on every scene?
Can you provide a step by step guide on how to reproduce the re-rendering?

Hey Zdravko, I can't re-create the issue either in a simple scene but the issue is definitely in a much more complicated production scene I am working on. I will see if I can narrow down the culprit and re-create it in a simple scene to post here.

Fell free to send us the scene to support@chasogroup.com as well. Also we could provide an FPT account if you think the scene is to big to send over e-mail.

It is a known problem and it is caused by the material preview window.
If you hide it the problem will go away.

Thanks Petrov. Interestingly, the material preview was closed when this issue happened to me. The material preview window is a bit annoying as it keeps my CPU really busy when it renders the preview of shader ball so I simply close the window but this issue still persist.

This is strange. In any case, this can happen when Maya resets/changes attributes on new selection. One cause we know is the material preview, there may be other causes. It will be best if you can send the scene to the support.
