I know there are other workarounds, but wouldn't it be an expected behaviour that if you have some lights under a vrayObjectProperty node with primary visibility set to False, that the lights would be on, but not visible?

I think from an artists perspective, it would be beneficial for the VRayObjectProperties node to apply to the visibility of light "geo" too. Even if it was a checkbox that offered "affect lights".
For example, if we have multiple render-layers, we typically group the geo to display in each layer and then apply a single VRayObjectProperty node to that group. If visible lights are part of the "look" of the geometry in a particular layer, then it would make sense that the visibility of those lights also respected the parent groups primary visibility attribute. We have this situation on a job at the moment, and it would make our lives easier if we didn't have to manually set overrides on every light.Patrick Macdonald

I totally agree with you that a separate option for the lights in the VrayObjectProperties dialog will be very beneficial.
However it would be better to request that feature in the wishlist section of the forums here:
