  • Vray LightMaterial and Vray Environment Fog

I am trying to get an environment fog to work with light material (applied to part of an object) and get shadows through the fog and decay of the light, but seems not possible. Is there any particular settings that need to be used?

    Hi,

In order to get nice shadows in the fog you have to use spotlights or V-Ray directional lights. Otherwise the effect will not be noticeable.
    Here is an example :

Is it possible to add an additional light in front of the light material surface in invisible mode?

Thanks for your help. In your example the light from vray light material in the environment fog is actually decaying and have (if subtle) shadows, in my tests I wasn't able to get any of these (flat white light). However using a spotlight worked fine, so I am adopting this solution at this moment. Will look again to find out if something was missing or not.
