One computer not rendering properly

I have identical computers in a small render farm. One computer apparently isn't batch rendering with V-ray — although is works perfectly in DR. Through Backburner the computer appears to render normally yet returns .iff images so I'm thinking it's likely using Maya render instead of V-ray. The other computers work perfectly.

The system software was recently reinstalled on this particular computer. I've installed Maya and V-ray twice without different results. Certainly I'm overlooking something. Any advice on what to check?

I finally got the problem tracked down. Log file notes: maya binary file parse error: (6) corrupted file structure

The system was running version Maya2016 sp4 instead of Maya2016 Ext.1 sp4
