VRaySkinMtl dark Edges together with a refractive VRayMtl

Hi,

I have a problem with dark edges. When I use VRaySkinMtl together with a refractive VRayMtl.

The dark edges appears when the refractive VRayMtl intersect with the VRaySkinMtl.

VRay Version:
vray adv 31001 maya2015 x64

Maya Version:
Autodesk Maya 2015 Sp6

Hi,

Such issues are expected with refractive geometry intersections. Have you tried to enable Affect shadows for the refractive material?

Which multiple scattering method you are using ?
Does it disappear if you choose pre-pass based illumination map ?

I use raytraced multiple scattering method.


It disappear if i use pre-pass based illumination map. But then it do a Prepass before rendering the final image.

This is fixed for the nightly builds and for the next service pack. You can request the nightly builds if you email us to support@chaosgroup.com and mention this thread.

I installed the latest nightly builds:
vray_adv_31001_maya2015_x64_26499
vray_adv_31001_maya2016_x64_26499

And it doesn’t seem to work!?

This is not the latest nightly build (it's a stable build that doesn't have the fix). The latest nightly build is marked as 3.15.05. You will need to let our support guys know that you need that particular build.
