  • DR ethernet network: El Capitan issues

Has anyone successfully gotten a mixed Windows / OS X El Capitan ethernet network working? My DR farm is Mac Workstation> PC Render nodes. Up until yesterday everything was working great under Mavericks. Then I upgraded to El Capitan and it all went to poop.

I cannot for the life of me get my Mac to recognize my Windows PCs over thunderbolt ethernet. Was totally working fine on Mavericks and even checked my another computer running Yosemite and that one works too. Anyone else having El Capitan issues with their DR farms?

    Thanks
    Ben

Nevermind, figured it out! Solution was to go to System Preferences>Network and switch Ethernet from "DCHP with manual address" to "Manually". All good now

Happy to hear you solved the problem!

Did you experienced problems with other networked software after upgrading to 10.11 or was it just V-Ray?

only tested vray but my guess would be that it would include all networked software. it looks like El Capitan made some changes in how thunderbolt ethernet needs to be setup for a local network.
