  • vrayToon overlapping faces

    Hi,

I am using vrayToon to render the front and back outlines of my geometry. It looks like vrayToon doesn't like overlapping faces as you can see in the attached image with a dummy object.
    Is there a workaround?

Well, overlapping faces always cause issues with something. It's best to clean them if you can.

You could maybe try separating the two objects just a little bit.

      Best regards,

Scaling one object to 1.001 and setting the line width low enough (0.1 pixel in this case) gets rid of the problem. We might be able to do this with our real geometry.

I know that overlapping faces are not the best things to have. But they are also pretty common when different objects touch each other especially with CAD data. I was hoping for something like the "force backface culling" checkbox that once was in the render globals. Btw where did that go?

We had issues with it in 3.0, and since its usage in a raytracer is a bit questionable, it was never ported back.
