Grey out subdvision samples

I've been having issues with light samples, shader samples , environment fog the subdivision samples are unavailable "Greyed out"
both on my previous version 3.1 and the new one 3.3.

Probably you are using a nightly build with Variance-based adaptive sampler (VBAS). If you want to manually tweak the scene subdiv. parameters then go to the render setup > V-Ray tab > DMC Sampler and switch Use local subdivs ON.
