Vray 3.3 in Maya 2016 sp5, Mac 10.11.3.....CRASH on ANY render

Create a new scene, , hit render,.....Crash
one sphere , one polygon floor, 2 vray lights, hit render.....Crash

License statice says everything is running.

any other Mac users out there get 3.3 running?

Hi,

This is very weird situation. We did a couple of tests using the same software configurations but can't reproduce the rendering crash. Would you please try to uninstall V-Ray and then to install it again?
Can you create a ticket in our system about this problem ?

Is that Maya with EXT 1 ?

I've reinstalled Vray and the VRLserver 3-4 times. Maya still dumps 2-3 seconds after I hit the render button.

I'm running Maya 2016 Service Pack 5.

I have already send and email to support. So any other Mac users have any tips I would really appreciate it.

Originally i was running Maya 2016 SP 5

Since then, I downloaded Maya 2016 Extention 1 + SP 5

Bother versions Crashed on me.

I think my issue is solved.

- I uninstalled VRLserver
- I uninstalled Vray
- I uninstalled Maya
- restarted my system
- Installed a fresh "Maya 2016 Extention 1 +SP 5"
- ran Maya testing install
- Installed Vray
- Installed VRLserver

Once I checked the License was installed and running correctly, I launched Maya and Vray rendered with out a hitch.

Im not sure why it worked but it did. I have installed both Maya and Vray 2-3 times each in the last 24 hours but this time it worked. I think the key is to uninstall EVERYTHING first and then reinstall fresh.

and BTW WOW 3.3 is clean and FAST on default settings... I am drooling!

That's great news. I'm not sure what exactly was wrong but glad to hear that you managed to find a way to fix it. We are going to close the ticket you have created about this issue in our system.
