  • Vray 3.3 in Maya 2016 sp5 linux, renderlayer overrides for camera not working!

Hi major problems with the latest Vray 3.3 nightly build (26673) and last stable build. Renderlayer overrides for renderable camera are broken. Making a render override on the camera in the render settings window does not update if you switch back to masterlayer and then back to the renderlayer. Same thing happens with the render elements. If you turn on all render elements to Y on the masterLayer. Switching to a renderlayer where all render elements are N and then back to the masterlayer changes all render elements of the masterlayer to N. Changing back to older vray builds like vray_adv_31501_maya2016_linux_x64_26619 fixes the problem. This is happening with simple scenes without mel errors.

The render elements seem to work fine with render layer overrides on our end. Can you double-check this, please?
As for the renderable camera - there certainly is a bug there and we'll fix it.

There is a quick fix for the render camera layer override. Go to this file:

      C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2016\vray\scripts\vrayRegisterR enderer.mel

And replace the "Output" string (with the quotes) to "Common". For the next patch, we will fix this one way or another.

Thanks for the fix and the quick response! It's working properly now. About the render elements you are right. I cannot reproduce it now. Maybe it happened on a recent nightly built and disappeared on a newer one. It happened in one of our production scenes. Will keep an eye on that when it happens again.
