  • Negative displacement and UDIM / Zbrush tiles

    Hello,

Lost a day to this one, was convinced there was an issue with my baking software .. however I'm now pretty sure that the 'allow negative colours' flag doesn't work when using any form of UV tiling. I've tried UDIM and Zbrush so far.

Please see the attached screen grab.

With tiles and displacement you must specify manually the bounds in the displacement control extra attributes.

I don't think I can set a negative value in those options.

EDIT: Ok I can't if I use HSV, but switching to RGB allows me to input a negative value. Thanks for the help .. is this a Maya thing more than a Vray thing ?, it'd be a great one to fix as it's a real sneaky gotcha if you don't know what you're looking for.

This was a Maya design decision in 2015 or 2016, and now we can't do much for this issue...
