    I'm struggling with this Material Wrapper set up in Maya2016, I almost got it but the plane is still visible on a chrome sphere, I looked into Vray object properties but didn't see anything relevant there.
    Could anyone finish my simple set up please, that would be awesome.
    A final note, workaround to make the dome light not infinite? like the option in the Mental Ray IBL...or something similar.

    You must set the "matte for all secondary rays" option.

        On the finite point - there's no such option right now. Maybe an alternative would be to use an actual sphere instead with lightMtl on it.

          Yes I thought of that but the actual poly sphere would not cast the light from where the lights are in the HDR image,(although even if the sphere was finite it is still a sphere and not a real interior environment)..... only Dome can cast light so I guess you would need to cut the HDR light sources from the image and plug into area lights and position them closer to where they might be for more precision in the lighting distance.
          I' m referring to HDr interiors mostly of course.

            Oh sorry Alex, I see you mentioned lightMTl on the sphere , not just an HDR....I should try that.
