  • Vray RT crashes?

I've been getting random Vray RT crashes. Doesn't seem to matter if it's been a short period of time or many hours of rendering a long sequence. Sometimes sequences go for many hours without a problem. I mostly notice this issue when rendering water animations from Realflow (so fairly large stitched Alembic sequences).

I am using a pair of GTX 980ti cards, is it possible the cards are overheating, or does the error below give any indication of the issue? The most recent crash gave me this info:

Error: line 1: ./src/ocl_tracedevice.cpp(2320) : CUDA error 719 : exception occurred on the device while executing a kernel //

// Error: Error transferring SD tree to device 0 //
// Error: Error transferring embree SD tree to device 0 //
// Error: Error transferring embree SD tree to device 0 //
// Error: Error 719 transferring vertex normals to device 0 //
// Error: Error 719 transferring MOVING vertex normals to device 0 //
// Error: Error 719 transferring nodes and meshes to device 0 //
// Error: Error 719 in MOVING nodes and meshes to device 0 //
// Error: Fatal error rendering scene. //

Which V-Ray build? Do you have any programs for monitoring GPU temperature? It's difficult to say what happened, but let's start with that.

    Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
